• The Berlin and Dusseldorf sounds of Can, Neu!, Cluster, Nina Hagen, Gina X Experience, Tangerine Dream and, of course, Kraftwerk. Not forgetting Switzerland’s Grauzone.

• The Musique Concrète of Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry.

• Early Bowie and Roxy.

• The British synth experimentalists John Foxx’s Ultravox, Gary Numan, Fad Gadget and The Normal.

• Global synth pioneers Jean-Michel Jarre, Telex, Space, Cerrone, YMO, Vangelis and, of course, Giorgio Moroder.

• The early industrial sounds of Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, and the early Human League.
